He numbed himself with a shot of whiskey, weaving back and forth barely keeping his head up. The bartender poured him one more shot when he asked, suggesting he leave after drinking that one. Barry got a little belligerent with the bartender.
"Tell me son, why are you drinking so hard?" the bartender asked.
"My girlfriend left me, she said I'm a joke." Barry sobbed.
"That must hurt." The bartender commiserated.
"Only when I laugh." Barry answered.
"You're in for hard times," said the bartender as he stepped away from the poster behind the bar that read, Comedy Show Tonight.
