Jealousy

"Faye's nothing but my coworker," Vernon reassured his girlfriend, Jazzie. "You had nothing to worry about. You're the woman I love."

"I saw how you looked at her," she hissed.

"Huh?" Vernon's face was blank. "What do you mean?"

"You smiled at her?"

"Sweetheart, that doesn't mean anything. I smile at everyone."

But Jazzie's suspicions grew anyway.

Walking into the Christmas party at Vernon's job, she caught sight of him chatting with his boss, Katherine, and smiling widely. Jazzie narrowed her eyes, thinking, "Gotcha."

Her anger quickly turned into a raging fury.

That night she torched Katherine's car, then his.
