The Best Day of the Year

Ignoring the swirling fog, the Far Darrig adjusted his red cloak. A feather protruded from his tri-cornered hat. Both were red, matching the bag he carried over his shoulder.

Anticipating his booty, he chortled.

The nearby people dressed as witches, goblins, monsters, and other creatures laughed, too.

"I love your costume," a woman commented.

"What costume?" But he grinned. She didn't know he was a faerie, or the purpose his bag served.

Halloween was the best day ever. Humans didn't suspect anything when the Far Darrig walked among them, and no one questioned shouts and movement coming from his bag.
