Nothing but Trouble

"Listen," Nedira demanded. "I'm tired of having to repeat myself. You're supposed to drink from the veins, not rip them out."

Tilly shrugged. "Who cares as long as I get what I need? If one dies, there are always more."

"All Saints' Eve is the only time we don't have to disguise ourselves, so quit advertising our presence. And, done correctly, the same humans can be used for years."

"Quit nagging. The old ways are stupid." Tilly sneered before walking away.

"She's nothing but trouble," Nedira told others. "Dead bodies draw attention."

Within moments, they'd drained all of Tilly's blood.
