Wanting by Caesar F. Castro

Caesar F. Castro

I miss you to this very day,
As for the thought of reuniting with you--I can only pray.
You brought such happiness into my life,
But I was forced to leave and deal with the strife.
What have you become over these past few years--
Have you thought about me and wasted any tears?
I try to shut you out of my mind,
But you are just one of a kind.
You brought me to a place where I'd never been,
Even though I know I had committed an unholy sin.
Ultimately, who was the bigger fool--
Me for believing or you for keeping your cool?
You haunt me in my dreams at night;
I know you were my way, my guiding light.
How could I come back to you now, with everything to lose,
Yet I get excited at the very thought of this news.
We know what was, can never be again,
But it can't hurt to pray. AMEN!
