The End:Story One
The Great Escape Pt2

Mike chuckled at me for being astonished at what had just happened. I still was not sure what, if anything, was starting to unfold between Renee and myself, but I knew that would have to wait, because all of us were on our way to put the escape plan into effect.

This time we did not take the elevator, but instead took the back stairs. We did not want to take the chance of gaining any unwanted attention before reaching the prison cells. The stairwell was well lit and looked as if it had been recently painted. The smell of the fresh paint burned my nose, and turned my stomach as well. Even Michael said that he felt a little lightheaded.
We moved down the stairs as fast as we could. Even so, by the time we reached the fifth floor, we could not endure the smell any longer. We stepped out the nearest exit, back into the hotel hallway. Lucky for us it was still early, and no one was up and around. We were able to travel up the hallway to the elevator without being seen.
Once inside, I hit the appropriate button and the metal doors slid open. We stepped out of the elevator into the main body of the city.
During that time of night, the main city reminded me of an old abandoned ghost town. There was no one in sight. We started to advance into the heart of the city, and everything looked as if it were going to go over with no problems. That was until I saw a light coming from the window of a small shop toward the center of the city.
Michael and I had to move cautiously toward the origin of the light, not knowing whether or not we were heading into a hostile situation. As we slowly moved toward the small shop, I felt my heart as it raced in anticipation. Could it be that I was becoming excited at the possible thought of making yet another kill?
As we walked up to the building, I looked through an open window and saw three armed guards. Michael suggested that we should be able to pass by without them noticing us. I agreed with a nod. It was going to be a difficult task, since there were three large windows that we would have to walk by, and then across the doorway to pass by the last smaller window.
One by one we walked by the three large paned windows. Just when it looked as if we were clear, one of the guards stepped outside. At first I thought that he had spotted us, but then I realized he was making sure it was clear before he lit his cigarette.
