Absinthe Makes the Heart Grow Fonder
By: Kate MacDonald-Dunbar

The day ends, your job is done,
now the time has come for fun
you meander to that bar in old Montmarte.
The sun is setting as you think
of sugar cubes and a dark green drink.
it's a lark, a spree
through clouded eyes you see, that,

Just a spoonful of sugar makes the absinthe go down,
the absinthe go down
the absinthe go down.
Just a spoonful of sugar, makes the absinthe go down
in a most delightful way.

Languidly waiting in your glass
is a blend of liquorice.
Potent herbs produce some bitterness.
As you sip your herbal drink
take my advice,
don't try to think

and hence (and hence)
you'll see (you'll see)
after a glass or three, that,

Just a spoonful of sugar makes the absinthe go down
the absinthe go down
the absinthe go down
Just a spoonful of sugar makes the absinthe go down
in a most delightful way.

To the tune," A Spoonful Of Sugar."
