Happy Holidays my Mythketeers!

I hope this issue finds you all warm and snuggly with your loved ones. If you are not with your loved ones, then I hope that you are at least in contact with them.

I would like to congratulate Steve Carr for winning Member of the Month! Also, to Jenna for again gracing the cover of our magazine with her Krampus!

Before I get started, I just want to let everyone know that David is working hard to get those contributor pages updated and apologizes for the slacking, but ScareFaire took a toll and he is working his butt off now to get them updated.

It is the holidays, and that means, twinkle lights, crisp cold air, the laughter of small children, and love. For me it means my contract as Editor in Chief is due. Each term is only a year and comes up for renewal each December. This is the time I decide whether I stay, or I go.

I have been involved with many of you for the last 4 years in some form or another. I have been editor in some form or another for the last 3 years. I will, if I choose to, be signing on for my fourth year. I love what I do, but it hasn't always been easy. The late nights, the last minute scramble to fill a genre, hunting down art each month, and making sure everyone's work looks its best and is as error free as I can get it can take a toll.

I've made mistakes, I've stepped on toes and have even hurt a feeling or two, all of which I was deeply sorry for. But I have also done some amazing things. I have seen this magazine grow in a huge way over the years I have been involved. I have met some amazing people and some that I was not sorry to see go. Doing what I do, having to tell people yes or no isn't as easy as it sounds. I have told more people no, than I have yes. I have sent more work back to be changed or have sections rewritten, than has been published. I've been cursed at, threatened and blocked, all because I want to make the magazine the best quality I can.

Now I'm not looking for sympathy or having a pity party, I just wanted to let you know what was involved in being Editor. It's not all sunshine and roses but those people I have made happy, who are excited to get that email and see their work each month, its them I do this for.

Its you, the reader, who comes back month after month to read the incredible pieces that grace our pages, that I do it for.

It is for me. The satisfaction I feel every month when I hear those words from Dave…"It's all coded and ready to go". It's telling him on the 10th of each month, "I don't think it's going to be too big" and on the 13th, 14th, and 15th of each month, having to eat those words.

It's the sheer thrill of being part of something so amazing.

That is why I do it. That is why I will sign the contract this month and you will all have to put up with me for another year.

My gift to you, in this season of giving, is to promise to continue to do my best, to treat every contributor with respect and to strive to keep our magazine the best we can get it. If you will continue this journey with me, then I think we can take this magazine to even greater heights.

Thank you everyone. You make this fun, worthwhile and an adventure I am eager to continue.

Happy Holidays
