The Zucchini Grower
By: Jim Bates

After the nerve-wracking incident with the magic beans, Jack's mother took one look at the zucchini seeds and barked, "No."

"Aw, Mom."

But her son was winsome as well as persistent and she eventually gave in. Plus, she had an idea.

Jack happily planted the seeds and defended the garden against vicious trolls and marauding unicorns. He then harvested the huge vegetable for his mother. She baked, fired, grilled and even put it in bread before selling the delicious dishes to the townsfolk. It was the talk of the land, much to Jack's delight. His mother didn't mind either.
