The Wall of Terrence
By: David K. Montoya

Jubee stood silently as the brisk autumn wind sped past him. He sighed with a heavy sorrow; his eyes fell upon the grave of his mentor, Sturbious the White. "You never finished your teaching, Master… They won."

Jubee lifted his eyes, placed them on the great wall that divided the land, and then continued his thought. "They have taken full control of the land… Only if you had not died…"

Jubee removed an old leather tome from a bag and placed it atop the grave, and with no words left, turned away and fully understood that he failed his Master.
