The Sound of Silence

The library's rooftop is my favorite place to observe the sea of humanity that haunted the bustling streets below. It was the kaleidoscope of colors from the umbrellas and the hypnotizing aromas from the street sellers. There was something special about this place.

As I laid watching the world go by, I watched as the happiness of the people drained away. Children's laughter and joy turned into shrieks of horror. People ran in a large formation, fleeing the streets. And then it happened, the sound of…silence.

Foolish humans, I thought, as I got onto my paws and went to explore.
